Philanthropy at Home and Around the World
Our Core Responsibilities
Volunteering
Habitat for Humanity
1. It is our responsibility to participate in the battle against human trafficking of women and children.
2. It is our responsibility to support geographic areas impacted by disasters; locations that rely on coffee farms and tourism for their economic sustainability.
3. As passionate advocates for specialty coffee shops and women, it is our responsibility to help support the financial resilience of women-owned and run coffee farms.
Habitat for Humanity homeowners are typically 1st-time home buyers. Many are single moms. We bring emergency preparedness classes to these homeowners.
By empowering them with these skills and knowledge, we’re not only helping them feel more secure in their homes but also fostering a sense of resilience and self-reliance within the community. It's a wonderful initiative that can have a lasting positive impact on the lives of these families.
PPROEM CERT Team
As a volunteer with the Pike’s Peak Regional Office of Emergency Management (PPROEM) CERT team, we provide emergency readiness education to the local community and hold and participate in various emergency drills and scenarios.
We provide support to local events when requested. I am a volunteer presenter and an exercise planner.
Mentorship
Exponential Impact
When I made the transition from a corporate career to entrepreneurship in 2004, resources to learn from were scarce and much of what I learned was through trial and error.
Today, as a mentor to local small businesses for Exponential Impact’s Survive and Thrive program, I get to guide them through many of the challenges I faced in the beginning. An 8-week cohort held several times throughout the year, I am a mentor and presenter.
PACCSoCo
I serve as a volunteer instructor (contingency planning & emergency readiness) for the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Southern Colorado in their ASENSO 12-week small business program.
Powered by our local Small Business Development Center in partnership with the SBA, the ASENSO program is a launching ground for these amazing Filipino-owned businesses.
