Meet Patty Bonsera, CBCI, CERT
Founder of Resilient Coffee Pros

“But first, coffee. In the winter, my go-to is a cappuccino with almond milk. In the summer, it’s a great iced specialty coffee roast.”

“I grew up in a small family business, spearheaded by my grandmother, who became an unexpected widow in 1962 at the age of 49.

I witnessed firsthand the challenges, dedication, hard work and resilience it takes for small business owners to succeed and I am a champion for your success.”

My Entrepreneurial Journey

2001: Left full-time corporate career
After 19 years, I left my full-time corporate career as a securities trader and transitioned to a part-time role so as to not leave my newborn daughter in daycare.

2002: First entry into disaster recovery and resilience
In 2002, I was tasked with creating a disaster recovery plan for the small boutique investment firm I was with after the 9/11 crisis.

2004: Pursued entrepreneurship full time
In 2004, I pursued entrepreneurship full time and it’s been quite a journey since.

I know how painful it can be when there is a major disruption to your life and your business when you’re not prepared. I’ve dedicated myself to helping specialty coffee shops and roasters build resilient companies with contingency planning and emergency readiness, so they can have the stability and peace of mind knowing they’re going to thrive, too.

I am committed to using my expertise and passion to make a meaningful impact for the coffee industry. I am always seeking new opportunities to collaborate and connect with like-minded individuals who share my vision and drive for success.

I have 10+ years of experience developing, implementing, and managing risk management and business continuity plans.

Volunteer Activities

I am an active volunteer with FEMA’s CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), Team Rubicon and our local Habitat for Humanity chapter teaching emergency readiness classes to Habitat homeowners.

I also serve as a mentor to several small businesses during Exponential Impact’s Survive & Thrive 8-week program and the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce.

A Beach Gal at Heart

I grew up on from Long Island, love to travel, spent several years living in Germany and two decades in the Midwest. I am a mom of three grown adults, have two beautiful daughters-in-law and two adorable grandgirls.

Having spent many high school summers on the shores of Long Island, the beach is my happy place.

And when I’m not creating contingency plans for specialty coffee shops or roasters, I’m creating deliciously decadent coffee-infused cupcakes. Yum!
